I believe she really was scared about Thomas and so did what Wicked wanted her to do. I only mistrusted her in the Scorch Trials, but not hated her.
I mean look at Gally, Dashner seems to like letting people rise from the dead :D Plus Thomas never looked back after he pulled the trigger.Īs for Teresa, well I felt sorry for her. I really hope there will be a fourth book and who knows, maybe Dashner surprises us all. He deserved more than anybody in these books to be happy and relieved at the end. His life sucked and the way he died was the worst of it all. Even if there will be a fourth book sometime, the story won’t be the same without him. I understand the immunes being sent away was the alternative to the cure because that had failed but I still feel bad the rest of humanity is just going to die out.įour weeks now since I finished the book and I still can’t get over Newt. I also wish they had some hope for a cure in the end. I do wish we could have found out more about Thomas's past though, why couldn't he have just let them give him his memories back?! I also thought it was a nice twist that the rat man actually ended up having the flare considering how composed he was throughout the previous books. In my fairytale ending of this book Thomas would have trusted and chosen Teresa and it would have been Brenda underneath that chunk of stone.Īs for the ending I thought it was original and unexpected which I liked. I am glad we got to see Teresa as the loyal good guy in the end but I am sad she had to die. I never liked Brenda and I always saw her as more of a friend to Thomas so I thought it was strange how close they got in this book and how much he trusted her EVEN after he found out she was working with wicked! Sure she mislead you in the scorch and beat you with a stick a couple of times but in the end it was all to save you so get over it!
I thought it was irritating how bitter and angry Thomas continued to feel toward her. I feel like Teresa never got the credit or trust she deserved.
